After Narnia – The lion, the witch and the wardrobe in cooperation with ISH, the Dutch National Ballet’s Junior Company returns to the Theater aan de Parade with Bubbles. During this diverse programme, 12 young talents demonstrate their virtuosity. Alongside excerpts from major ballet classics, they will also perform work by their in-house choreographers Hans van Manen and Krzysztof Pastor as well as a world premiere from artistic coordinator Ernst Meisner.
And that isn’t all, because Spanish guest choreographer Juanjo Arqués has created a choreography especially for the occasion inspired by the famous triptych ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’. Arqués saw the painting for the first time at the Museo del Prado in Madrid and was immediately deeply impressed. His choreography deals with themes including temptation, religion and morals. Juanjo is always energetic, exploratory and humorous. Arqués bases himself on classical ballet traditions, but utilises a contemporary dance vocabulary.
