Visions of a genius
In 2016, Jheronimus Bosch will be coming home. Dozens of renowned works by the master from 's-Hertogenbosch will return to the city they were created in 500 years ago for the largest retrospective ever: Jheronimus Bosch – Visions of a Genius at the Noordbrabants Museum.
Never before have so many works – 20 paintings, 19 drawings, various triptychs and panels – by Bosch been brought together. Jheronimus' world famous masterpieces will return to 's-Hertogenbosch from around the globe in 2016.
A large number of paintings were studied and restored by prominent art historians, curators and restoration experts as part of the Bosch Research and Conservation Project during the years preceding the exhibition. The results, new connections, techniques and meanings, but also exceptional works by Jheronimus' fellow artists, followers and contemporaries will be displayed to the general public for the first time during Jheronimus Bosch – Visions of a Genius.
Jheronimus Bosch – Visions of a Genius was the highlight of the Bosch Year 2016, an unique event and an unparalleled homage to the most important Medieval artist from the Netherlands.
